Apple’s First Foldable Phone Launches in India

Brace yourself: the iPhone has entered the foldable market. The new iPhone Duo has launched in the Indian market, giving gadget geeks a reason to celebrate before Diwali. The launch brings excitement and a major shift in the phone’s functionality, making it a viable device for use at any time.

Before you buy, keep in mind the range and structural details of the new product.

  1. As per Apple's official website, the iPhone Duo has a 14-inch OLED display (7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch outer display), supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits brightness. It incorporates a multitasking screen and can also be used single-handedly with a compact screen outdoors.

  2. It weighs up to 254 gm and has an 11.3 mm thickness when folded.

  3. Apple claims that Duo can deliver up to 31 hours of video playback on its inner display and 44 hours on the outer display.

  4. It is water- and dust-proof because of Ceramic Shield protection, has a titanium design, and has long-term folding durability extended for real-time use.

  5. For Indian users, the iPhone Duo ranges at Rs. 2,99,900 for 256GB storage. Also available in 512, 1TB, and 2TB. The exterior of Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky colors.

The iPhone Duo has a built-in A20 Pro chip and a 48MP dual camera. Despite the exclusivity, it does come with limitations. It doesn't have a telephoto lens, and third-party apps are not fully utilized for a foldable device.

The pre-orders sold out in minutes, and now delivery estimates are pushed to January 2027 for potential buyers. In India, many Apple stores can expect a rush of posts in the new year and long waits for potential buyers. The new launch brings in a deal of the year, yet with certain prices and availability, it should be kept in mind when buying.
